Rising to the China challenge

At a joint event with the European Policy Centre on 14 October 2011, President Thumann discussed the major findings of BUSINESSEUROPE's report 'Rising to the China challenge'. In the presence of EU Trade Commissioner Karel De Gucht, he highlighted the opportunities that China offers for European companies but also pointed to a number of serious challenges that European companies encounter in their business operations in China, the EU and on third markets. The report includes a number of clear recommendations to China and the EU in order to tackle these challenges, and makes some suggestions for further action in order to improve the EU-China bilateral relationship.
