Brexit – business is concerned about the slow pace in negotiations
Business needs certainty and time to prepare and adjust to the post-Brexit situation. The slow pace of the negotiations is of special concern to business as it might jeopardise an orderly and constructive exit of the UK from the EU.
Markus J. Beyrer, Director General of BusinessEurope, said: “BusinessEurope urges both sides to make additional efforts and commit to reach a withdrawal agreement as early as possible in order to address the transition and future relation. Transitional arrangements are important to allow companies enough time to prepare while we don’t have clarity about the future relation. A solution that ensures the UK remains in the customs union and the single market for the duration of the transition period with all appropriate rights and obligations would be best to provide citizens and business with more certainty and predictability.”
