Strong investment protection chapter needed in TTIP

On March 14th 2014, BusinessEurope and AmCham EU held a joint media briefing on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership for journalists representing the major EU newspapers. The topic of the day was investment, in particular, the investor-to-state dispute settlement mechanism (ISDS) and whether it should be included in TTIP. BusinessEurope underlined our support for the inclusion of a strong investment protection chapter in TTIP without excluding ISDS. Additionally, on March 19th 2014, Luisa Santos, Director for International Relations, spoke at the hearing on civil-society views on TTIP organised by the European Economic and Social Committee, to reiterate the same points to a broader audience of stakeholders.
