Re-balancing EU’s industrial, energy and climate policies

Speaking at the European Steel Day 2014, Director General Markus J. Beyrer, argued that the EU needs to re-balance its industrial, energy and climate policies to provide a regulatory environment for industry to thrive. Energy and climate policy represents an important aspect of competitiveness for a range of industrial sectors, not least the steel industry. A strengthened industrial governance guaranteeing competitiveness mainstreaming across all policies will have an important role to play to ensure that all policy initiatives work together to support competitiveness rather than obstructing it.
