Maria joined BusinessEurope in May 2024. As a Junior Adviser in the Legal Affairs department, she deals with company law, corporate governance, sustainability and due diligence, consumer law, and redress. Maria is an EU-qualified lawyer in both Greece and Cyprus, having worked on civil law, company law, and GDPR compliance in a law firm in Greece. Prior to joining BusinessEurope, Maria worked for 8 months as a trainee in the European Parliament Legal Affairs (JURI) Committee. Maria also practiced law at the Attorney General’s Office in Cyprus. She holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow, UK), a Master of Laws from the University of Nicosia (Cyprus), and an Advanced Master’s degree in intellectual property and ICT law from KULeuven (Belgium).
