MC13 - Make or break
The 13th Ministerial Conference of the WTO will be critical in demonstrating the ability of the WTO to respond to the current trading challenges and to become more effective and apt to addressing future challenges. Businesses support multilateral trade and need a functioning and modernised WTO. Members strive to agree on issues ranging from the renewal of the e-commerce moratorium to the reform of the dispute settlement system and a robust fisheries agreement. However, if divergencies among members are not bridged, a successful MC13 outcome is not guaranteed. What would be the consequences in case of failure?
In this context, BusinessEurope organises a breakfast discussion, to exchange views with:
- H.E. Ambassador João Aguiar Machado, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the EU to the WTO
- Jörgen Warborn, Member of the European Parliament
