TTIP: "Get into the heart of negotiations!"

BUSINESSEUROPE supports the announcement by the European Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmström and the US Trade Representative Mike Froman of their commitment to give a “new start” to the TTIP negotiations. BUSINESSEUROPE’s Director General Markus J. Beyrer said: “This must be the end of the preparatory phase. It’s time to get into the heart of the negotiations. European business calls for an ambitious calendar with frequent rounds of negotiations during 2015 so that strong progress can be made allowing a political agreement to be reached by the end of the year”. “This does not mean that European business supports a ‘light TTIP’: the objective must remain to conclude an ambitious and comprehensive agreement that ensures growth and jobs on both sides of the Atlantic” – Beyrer added.
