Shareholder rights revision: using the right means?
There are serious concerns about the over-prescriptive nature of the recent shareholders rights proposal despite an overall agreement on its objectives. Over-regulation in corporate governance will risk discouraging companies from being listed, which is a privileged way to access needed investment. This was one of the main conclusions of today’s conference co-organised by BusinessEurope, ACCA, ecoDa and EuropeanIssuers.
