Innovation and competitiveness: the EIB conference
Regain Europe’s global innovation leadership and emphasise the role of innovation for economic growth: these were among the key messages BUSINESSEUROPE President Emma Marcegaglia gave at the EIB conference in Berlin ‘Momentum for Europe’, opened by the Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, the European Commission President Juncker and the EIB President Hoyer. According to Emma Marcegaglia, the EU should make the regulatory framework fit for innovation, be less risk-averse and look at the whole scale of research and innovation, including close-to-market activities, if Europe is not to lag behind.
