A digital revolution for growth and jobs in Europe

Addressing the closing plenary at the Digital Action Day in Brussels, Markus J. Beyrer urged Europe to refrain from holding back on risks rather than seizing the new opportunities that digital economy offers. Digital is disruptive for the whole industry and will increase industrial productivity, improve health care and enhance energy efficiency. Particularly, the use of big data will be one of the main drivers of this transformation. The new institutions need to take action to enable such innovation, putting in place the right regulatory framework for both companies and consumers.
