Companies need the right conditions to invest in digitalisation

Commenting on an Accenture Strategy study on the answers European companies give to the digital opportunities industry is facing, BUSINESSEUROPE Director General Markus J. Beyrer said: " We have strong players and also countries with great potential which are still lagging behind. European companies need to digitalise in order to be competitive. Having a supportive environment to do so is key". Accenture's study contains encouraging information about the potential for improving Europe's performance if we digitalise, but - Markus J. Beyrer added: - "companies, including SMEs, need the right conditions to invest in digitalisation. Europe has to support innovation better and avoid putting unnecessary burdens on data protection.
