BusinessEurope welcomes deal on single resolution mechanism

Reacting to today’s agreement between the European Parliament, Council and Commission on a single resolution mechanism and fund, BusinessEurope President Emma Marcegaglia said: “While we would ideally have liked to see a stand-alone resolution authority, with more independence from national political interests, BusinessEurope nevertheless welcomes the agreement today on a single resolution mechanism for the Euro Area. Today’s deal is an important step towards stability in our financial system, much needed to resolve the access to finance problems that many companies are facing. We call on all parties to formally ratify this deal and ensure that it is implemented.”
