Fiscal policy in an environment of high debt

The European Commission Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs (DG ECFIN) is organising its annual workshop on fiscal policy, dedicated this year to ‘Fiscal policy in an environment of high debt’. The workshop will be a one-day event with high-profile speakers and discussants from academia and international institutions. The workshop will be structured in two parts. The 1st session will focus on challenges for public debt in time of private-sector deleveraging. The 2d session will concentrate on how to resolve the public debt overhang.
