Prior to joining BusinessEurope, Svetlana was an accredited parliamentary assistant and a team leader for a Bulgarian Member of the European Parliament. Her passion and professional interest are digital technologies and policy-making. She worked on legislative dossiers regarding data flows, cybersecurity, e-privacy, platforms-to-business trading practices, terrorist content online, and more. Additionally, Svetlana assisted the coordination of the EPP Group in the Special Parliamentary Committee on AI (AIDA). Svetlana is a tech-optimist and a believer in a more sustainable economy, underpinned by technology. She completed a selective Master's programme on European public affairs from the Maastricht University, the Netherlands. Svetlana's mother tongue is Bulgarian. She is fluent in English and Spanish, with an intermediate level of French.
