In her role at BusinessEurope, Paloma Alonso covers both EU and international sustainable finance topics, including the EU taxonomy, and other sustainable reporting obligations derived from various pieces of EU legislation. Before joining BusinessEurope, she worked at the Permanent Representation of Spain to the EU as a policy officer dealing with Coreper I files during the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the EU, and as a trainee at the European Commission (Cabinet of the High Representative / Vice President). She also has experience in the private sector and on corporate reporting obligations from her past experiences as a consultant and as a legal trainee at a consultancy and a law firm. Paloma holds a Master’s degree in international relations from the College of Europe in Bruges and studied both law and business in the Valencia University and the NEOMA Business School in France. A Spanish native, she's fluent in English, French and Catalan, and currently learning Portuguese.
